There is something for everyone when it comes to food in Nosy Be. There are many restaurants ranging from cheap to splurge, although prices for food in Nosy Be are significantly lower than those in the west and you will have good fresh food for low prices. There is a lot of seafood available of course, but also grilled food, excellent steaks and also Italian food. Tartare de poisson, smoked fish, octopus salad, carpaccio de zebu, zebu steak, coconut rice and corossol juice are a few things which one should try.
The View
The View is a restaurant on top of Mont Passot with the best view in all of Nosy Be, hence the name. There is a wide variety of dishes on the menu and the personnel is friendly and fast. This place should not be missed when you’re traveling to Nosy Be.
Karibo Restaurant
Karibo is an Italian restaurant with local dishes as well, with a neat and tasty cuisine, you will find pasta with seafood, squid, oysters as well as sea urchins and many other Italian dishes. The service is great and the prices are affordable. The interior is a bit less appealing and it can be a bit slow if there are many people, but all in all a must-visit when you’re in Nosy Be.
The Sarimanok Restaurant
This waterfront restaurant is from the hotel with the same name. The restaurant has a quality cuisine with beautifully decorated dishes, all with fresh ingredients and dishes at reasonable prices. This is a great place if you want to enjoy the sunset.
L’apero
L’apero is a bar-pizzeria, bistro style and is perfect for a sundowner due to its location right on the sand with a nice variety of cocktails. The menu is not big, but all is correct and there is a great, relaxed atmosphere.
Beach Klub Restaurant
In addition to the very relaxing place, open to the sea without forgetting their special touch of decoration with hanging beds, their pizza is one of the best on the island. The waiters are also kind and respectful, always with a smile and a warm welcome.
Restaurant Bar: Mango Factory
This place is a restaurant-lounge during the day and turns into a lounge – dance bar later in the night. They are known for their generous cocktails, always served well-presented and with a smile by the patient staff. There is a DJ playing the newest afro beats and local music starting from 10 p.m. and this is one of the best places on the island if you want to go out to dance. Try the paella, the grilled zebu steak and even the couscous.
Casa Mofo
Casa Mofo is a bakery, pastry and ice cream parlor in Hell-Ville. It is known to be the best place in the area for pastries and ice cream. The place is in a good location and the setting is classy and clean, with a classic decor, ideal for having a coffee
